About Military ErasMilitary Eras is made up mainly of seasoned American veterans who share an intense pride in their own service and an abiding interest in our nation's military history. Our mission is to bring the extraordinary record of the American warrior to our fellow citizens – helping more of us know and understand through living history and heritage education the storied background of the United States armed forces. ![]() David Kling, a Marine veteran of Vietnam, served as a rifleman with G Co., 2nd Bn., 7th Marine Regt. in 1969. He received three Purple Hearts for injuries sustained during Operation Oklahoma Hills in Quang Nam Province. After returning from southeast Asia, he became a rifle range instructor at Parris Island, S.C. After his discharge, Dave pursued a number of public service efforts, focusing on veterans' organizations and youth sports, including football, wrestling, and baseball. Dave's expertise is in Marine Corps tradition as well as drilling, combat sequence and battlefield action scenes. ![]() Sean Kling was a member of the U.S. Army's 2nd Armored Division in the mid-'90s. Like his father, he is also involved in veterans' organization's and youth programs. Sean worked as an extra on the movie Gettysburg and various History Channel programs. His interest in history started a vast collection of uniforms and gear and led directly to the founding of Military Eras. Sean's expertise includes uniforms and general military protocol; he also has an extensive knowledge of drill, basic training and combat training.
Sheri Kling comes from a long line of soldiers. One grandfather served with the 9th Infantry Division in North Africa and Europe; the other served with distinction for more than 20 years, fighting in World War II and the Korean War. Sheri has a B.S. degree in education from Lock Haven University, Lock Haven, Pa. Sheri's an expert in civilian history and children's history of all eras.
Jim Woodeshick, jack of all trades, earned an engineering degree from Penn State University. Jim has a long love for all things military and the men and women who serve; his expertise on 20th century soldiers, sailors, Marines, airmen, and coast guardsmen is second to none. Jim's special expertise is in uniforms, gear and weapons of World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He has extensive skills in research and background layout. Chris Riker,our propmaster, backdrop layout person, and location coordinator, possesses a genuine, lifelong love of American history. Chris also assists in the construction of gear, uniforms and equipment. He's experienced in coordinating extras and as a casting director. He has a strong background in historical construction, period foods, and historical equipment.
